Ok, let me first start this off by letting you know that I am probably THE coolest blogger you'll ever come across. Naaaah, just kidding. But yes, I do have a penchant for typing and expressing myself through words, so I'm going to warn you now...sometimes I may type...and type...and type. But I'll assure you that it's good stuff. If not, well, read another blog. ;^P
Just kidding, ya'll.
There's a question that I have been posed with from a wonderful lady, who I'll refer to as "Mrs. G.," which asks me what I personally think an English Major, like myself, looks like.
Well, to me...an English Major looks like what he or she is trying to express. When it comes to the core values of being an English Major, one may find that it easier to portray what you want to portray through the use of words, stories, poems, blogs...the works. Writing ourselves down, in a sense, is what gives an English Major a sort of "backdrop," if you will, that allows one to fully get their show on the road.
Now, before you start developing pre-conceived notions of English Majors being "Nerdy," or "Drama Kids," or "Straight and Narrow"...let me tell you something...
...Wait, I lost my train of thought.
Give me a second...
Ok, I'm back. Like I had stated earlier, we are what we want to express. I am a writer by heart, and I love poetry and Hip-Hop, so with English being my main course meal of study, I am further learning and developing my literary, writing, and grammar skills. Not only am I doing this for improvement of my abilities, but I am doing this because it gives me the chance to look at things from another perspective...the Reader's and the Writer's perspective.
And last time I checked, you didn't need a pocket protector or highwater khakis in order to do that.
So what am I saying? I'm saying that an English Major is a reflection of their own personal expression. I have yet to meet a person who can simplify themselves in the form of a mathematic equation, and I doubt there's a person who is willing to actually try. If you know such a person, refer them to me. I've got to see them for myself.
But in closing, if you think about it...a dancer dances to express themselves. A pianist plays with emotion to display what they feel. A chef prepares stylish and tasty meals to exhibit his passion. And an English Major writes...to give you an insight on who they are. And once one can see that, then you'll truly know what they look like.
So there you have it. I hope I didn't go too far off course...I'm getting graded for this. X^D
But hey, I hope you enjoy reading this one. I'll have more blogs coming, so keep your eyes open. I just may bring some of my old MySpace material here. And yes, I said MySpace.
I'll catch ya'll later.
Peace, Much Love, and God Bless.

You are exactly right on this one. Let your creativity be re-ignited and continue to stretch your talents. That sounds like an English major to me.
